Tending to the Veil
A Day Retreat for Grief, Ancestor Honoring, and Psychedelic Healing
November 2nd, 2025
9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Private home studio space | Shaker Heights, Ohio
$500 | Limited to 8 participants
As the veil between worlds thins during the sacred season of Samhain and Día de los Muertos, we gather to honor the presence of our ancestors, the wisdom of our grief, and the sacred threshold between life and death.
This retreat offers a deeply held space to process sorrow, remember beloved dead, and tend the soul through ancient and modern practices of mourning. Together we’ll weave grief ritual, keening (the ancestral vocal expression of lament), sound healing, and ketamine-assisted therapy into a powerful journey of release, remembrance, and reconnection.
Our day will begin with gentle grounding and a sound healing journey to support your nervous system and open the body to presence. From there, we’ll enter a psycholytic (low-dose) ketamine experience, inviting softened awareness and expanded emotional insight. You may bring photos, objects, or names of those you wish to honor — or simply arrive with an open heart. A low dose of ketamine allows participants to stay present and connected to their body but softens emotional defenses in a way that can facilitate gentle emotional processing
After the medicine experience, you’ll have space for quiet reflection through journaling or creative art processing. A nourishing lunch will be provided. We’ll end the day with a communal guided integration circle.
If you feel called to join, the first step is to reach out — call or text us at 505-316-1603. We’ll schedule a brief phone consultation to get to know each other and discern whether this retreat is the right fit for you at this time.
If we decide to move forward, you’ll be referred to Journey Clinical, a trusted medical organization that supports our work. You’ll have a telehealth appointment with one of their licensed prescribers to review your medical history and receive your ketamine prescription to bring with you the day of the retreat. .
We’ll also schedule a final preparation call before the retreat to help you feel supported, grounded, and ready for the journey ahead. Registration closes on October 19th What to Expect:

Why A KAP Retreat?
Group Ketamine-Assisted Therapy offers an accessible, cost-effective path for those seeking the healing benefits of psychedelic therapy, with the added power of shared human experience.
Here’s how it compares:
Individual KAP experiences require two preparation and one integration session per each three hour dosing experience. This equals five hours of therapy over a few weeks of time at our standard individual session rate of $175/hour. Total: $1,050 + Journey clinical assessment and medication
KAP Retreats offer a shared container, community reflection, and support for an all in one immersive healing experience.
By joining a group retreat, you benefit not only financially, but emotionally by feeling seen, mirrored, and held in a circle of others on a similar path.

FAQs
How does it feel when taking ketamine?
The effects of ketamine, which most patients find pleasant. These effects can make you feel “far from” your body, and facilitate shifts in perception that can often feel expansive in nature. Your motor and verbal abilities will be reduced, so you’ll be lying down in a comfortable position during the experience. While it may feel hard to articulate what happens during the experience, participants feel like the insights gained are clear. Psycholydic (low dose) are a bit different in that participants often feel very much “in their body” still, but just a bit more emotionally open and connected.
Is this legal?
Yes. This retreat operates legally and ethically through a partnership with Journey Clinical, a licensed medical provider that evaluates and prescribes ketamine for use in psychotherapy. You will be directed by your journey clicial physician to bring your ketamine prescription and self administer your dose during the retreat. Journey clinical requires you to be in the presense of a journey trained therapist (that is us).
Do I need prior psychedelic experience?
No. First-timers are welcome. We provide thorough preparation and guidance every step of the way. Although, you may want to participate in one cycle of individual KAP sessions with one of our therapists, before attending a day retreat experience.
How do I prepare?
Once you reach out via phone, text or email we will schedule a free consultation call for you to ask more questions and for us to get to know each other a bit. We will then guide you to Journey Clinical where you will have an assessment by their medical team and if appropriate be given a ketamine prescription which will be mailed to your home. We will have a phone/ or zoom consult prior to the retreat to give instructions for preparation.
Can I use insurance?
The therapeutic portion of this retreat is not billed through insurance, but Journey Clinical’s medical evaluation and prescription may be partially reimbursed mattering on your insurance benefits.
